Title
Techniques for Reducing hydro-Acoustic Noise from underwater explosions in KIEL Bay
General information
The TRANKIEL project is investigating ways to sustainably reduce underwater noise caused by underwater explosions. The objective is to mitigate the environmental impact of such explosions by integrating numerical simulations with real measurement data. To this purpose, hydro- and seismo-acoustic models are being developed that simulate the propagation of energy through both the water column and the seabed. A particular focus of this research is on investigating the effectiveness of bubble curtains as acoustic barriers.
