Expedition M78-2 with RV METEOR: MARSouth V

The expedition M78-2 with RV METEOR was conducted within the DFG priority programme between the 2nd of April and the 11th of May 2009. The expedition lead to the so-called "Southern Field", an active hydrothermal vent-field system on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) between 4 and 11掳 South.

ROV KIEL 6000 was one of the main tools during this expedition and completed 15 scientific dives in water depths of more than 3000 m.
